Thierry Henry Doesn't Hold Back on Jurgen Klopp's Decision to Drop Simon Mignolet

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has criticised Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp for dropping Simon Mignolet from the side and replacing him with Loris Karius.

Karius came in from FSV Mainz during the summer, and there was no doubt he was going to be the Reds' No.1 after he got over his injury. Now that it's happened, though, everyone is crying foul.

The German stopper really has been poor so far. Fans and pundits have lashed out at him as a result, and a Twitter war has since sparked between the keeper and Sky Sports'Gary Neville.

Henry, also a Sky pundit, has said that Klopp made a mistake in putting Karius in at a time when Mignolet was playing really well.

"Now you have to understand that Jurgen Klopp just brought this new keeper Karius and he's going to play him," he said on Sky (H/T theDaily Star).

"He's going to be the number one and you could sense that he was going to be number one right from the start.

"What happened for me is that Mignolet didn't deserve to leave the team."

The former Arsenal and Barcelona man did acknowledge, however, that things were always going to be hard for the stopper just like they were for him when he just arrived in England.

"Having said that, yes Karius has been suspicious," he added. ''You know not only there on the free-kick from Dimitri Payet. I remember a goal that he conceded also against Palace.

"He came out, he shouldn't have done it but when I arrived in this league things were difficult for me also."
