Thomas Partey doubtful for Arsenal's clash with Everton, says Mikel Arteta

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey’s starting position for the upcoming match against Everton remains in doubt, with manager Mikel Arteta voicing concerns over his match fitness.

Partey recently returned to action as a substitute in Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Leicester City after sitting out two games with a thigh injury.

The 29-year-old Ghanaian has been an integral part of Arsenal’s campaign to clinch their first league title since 2004.

However, Arteta’s acquisition of Jorginho in January has filled the void created by Partey’s absence.

Although Partey played for the final six minutes at the King Power Stadium, Arteta remains cautious about playing him from the start. He believes that the midfielder needs more playing time to regain his form and fitness.

“He hasn’t obviously trained much, he’s only had a session and he will train today, so it is what it is.

"He was out for a few weeks and he needs to get rhythm,” Arteta said in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.
