Thomas Partey missed Arsenal's game against Sevilla due to injury

Arsenal took on La Liga side Sevilla in the Uefa Champions League without their star midfielder Thomas Partey.

The Black Stars midfielder suffered a muscle injury in training ahead of the game against Sevilla. His condition is currently been assessed and there is no return date for him.

Despite Thomas Partey's absence, the Gunners beat Sevilla 2-1 at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.

Gabriel Jesus's magic set up compatriot Gabriel Martinelli to open the score on the stroke of half-time, before doubling the advantage with a magnificent, curling finish of his own, albeit he subsequently limped off after holding his hamstring.

On the hour, a tremendous Nemanja Gudelj header cut the deficit to one, but Mikel Arteta's team held on to win and go to the top of Group B.

Thomas Partey has made four appearances for Arsenal in the Premier League this season.

The 30-year-old featured in Arsenal's games against Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Manchester City.
