Ghana international Alexander Djiku has caught the attention of numerous clubs as they seek to secure his services for the upcoming season.

Earlier reports in the French media suggested the 28-year-old has received a formal offer from Nottingham Forest, who are looking to improve their squad during the summer transfer window.

Djiku, who joined Strasbourg in 2019, is reaching the conclusion of his contract and will be a free agent at the end of June.

In a fierce battle to secure services of one of the most sought-after defender this summer, the Premier League club face a stiff competition as three other clubs enter the race.

Footballghana.com understands that French Ligue 1 side Lille, Besiktas of Turkey and Mainz 05 in Germany have all joined the race for the services of the Black Stars defender.

Strasbourg, headed by Alexander Djiku as captain last season retained their Ligue 1 status and intends to keep the defender following a recent investment by BlueCo, the owners of Chelsea Football Club.
