The guy who orchestrated Emiliano Sala's death flight was found guilty on Thursday.

According to BBC News, businessman David Henderson was convicted guilty of jeopardizing the safety of an airplane during a trial at Cardiff Crown Court.

On Nov. 12, the 67-year-old will be sentenced. He had already pleaded guilty to attempting to organize a flight without consent or approval.

Sala and pilot David Ibbotson perished in January 2019 when their single-engine Piper Malibu crashed into the English Channel.

The Argentine striker was traveling to Cardiff City in Wales to join up with his new team and complete his £15 million transfer from Nantes, the city from which the flight took off.

The jury deliberated for seven and a half hours before reaching a conclusion.

Henderson, who was on vacation in France at the time, requested that Ibbotson pilot the jet. Ibbotson, however, lacked the commercial pilot's license required to fly at night, and his qualifications to fly the single-engine Piper Malibu had expired months before the voyage.

Henderson had also been advised by the owner of the Piper Malibu not to let Ibbotson fly the plane again since the pilot had violated airspace.
