#TotalAFCON2019: Ghana likely XI to face Tunisia on Monday

Published on: 07 July 2019

Torino midfielder Afriyie Acquah is likely to start for Ghana in their round of 16 clash with Tunisia on Monday at the Ismailia Stadium.

Acquah tasted one game at the group phase of the tournament but it looks like Kwasi Appiah will start him in the game against Tunisia.

The Ghana gaffer has effected at least a change in his line up for each game played at the group stages and is likely to repeat that.

Acquah came on for Ghana in their 2-0 win over Guinea-Bissau in their last group game and was applauded for his outstanding output.

With the performance of Acquah and his experience, Kwasi Appiah is likely to drop Kwabena Owusu for the game.

Baba Rahman and Andy Yiadom are likely to maintain their positions on the left and right side of defence respectively while Kassim Nuhu returns to partner Jonathan Mensah in what looks like the defensive set up for the Cameroon game.

Mubarak Wakaso and Afriyie Acquah could start in defensive midfield while an attacking midfield trio of Kwadwo Asamoah, Thomas Partey and Andre Ayew play behind Jordan Ayew who will lead the attack.

Below is Ghana’s likely starting line up to face Tunisia:

Richard Ofori

Andy Yiadom Baba Rahman Kassim Nuhu Jonathan Mensah

Afriyie Acquah Mubarak Wakaso

Samuel Owusu Thomas Partey Andre Ayew

Jordan Ayew
