Tottenham Flop Being Pursued by Two European Clubs Regarding Potential Summer Move

Wolfsburg and Galatasaray are among a number of clubs interested in signing Tottenham's Vincent Janssen, who has struggled in the Premier League since his £18m move from AZ Alkmaar in the summer, as perEvening Standard.

The Dutch forward is yet to score from open play for the club and has been restricted to almost a permanent role on the bench due to the form of star striker, Harry Kane.

Though Janssen is said to be determined to make a success of his time in England, Wolfsburg and Galatasaray have checked on the availability of the 22-year-old in the summer.

Mauricio Pochettino's side opted not to sell the forward in January, with rumours linking the Dutchman with an early exit, due to the fact that they lack depth in the forward departments - Janssen being the only logical backup to Kane.

However, with just five goals in 26 appearances, all of them penalties, and a lack of confidence, Janssen could depart White Hart Lane sooner rather than later despite his manager's supportive words.

Pochettino said: It is not an issue. Janssen is not in his best moment but he is young, it's his first season and we've had a lot of chats with him.

It is normal, it's all new for him and he needs to be relaxed, train hard, try to improve and when he has the opportunity to play, show his quality. The most important thing is that we believe in him and trust in him.

A place on the bench in Spurs' FA Cup tie against Wycombe Wanderers was perhaps the lowest point in Janssen's English career so far and he now has a long road ahead of him to prove himself in the world's most competitive league.
