Tottenham Hotspur Reportedly Ready to Revive Interest in Real Madrid Playmaker

The Mirror are reportingthat Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is still very keen to add Real Madrid playmaker Isco to his squad in January.

The Argentine is a long-term admirer of the Spaniard and is monitoring the 24-year-old's current situation at the Bernabeu.

Tottenham first made their interests known last summer, however Isco decided he wanted to fight for his place at the Spanish giants.

The Spaniard has only completed 90 minutes twice this season and is reportedly frustrated at his lack of game time for Zinedine Zidane's team.

Los Blancos have offered Isco a new deal, as his current one ends in 2018, however it is understood that the playmaker wants time to think about his options and potential new destinations.

Tottenham have just recorded their highest ever points tally in a calendar year and their interest in Isco shows the direction the club are moving in.

Having finished third last year, behind Leicester and Arsenal, they will be eager to at least repeat last season's finish.

An abysmal showing in Europe has seen them already knocked out of the Champions League, a factor that could hinder the move, however the promise of first team football could see Isco donning the famous white and blue of the north London side.

If Isco were to arrive it would leave Pochettino with an overflow of midfielders, which will probably prompt the Argentine to make some of his rotation players available to other clubs.
