Jermaine Jenas has told BBC's Match of the Day programme that Liverpool goalkeeper, Loris Karius, isn't good enough to help his team win the Premier League title this season.

The German has suffered a barrage of criticism following a crucialmistake he madeduring his side's shock defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday.

The Reds, who were unbeaten in 12 matches, led the Cherries 3-1 with a little under 15 minutes remaining.

However, Ryan Fraser's goal sparked an incredible comeback which not only saw the hosts draw level, but go on to score the winner in the 93rd minute.

That winning goal hasseen Karius ridiculed, after he allowed Steve Cook's simple shot to spill through his hands and give Cherries defender, Nathan Ake, a simple tap in.

Whilst many experts have previously questioned the keeper's position as Liverpool's number one, Sunday's clanger was the first noticeable sign that Karius may not be the title winning goalkeeper that manager Jurgen Klopp hoped he would be.

And this sentiment was echoed by the BBC's Jermaine Jenas, when he wasanalysing the keeper's performance during the defeat.

The 33-year-old told Match of the Day (as quoted byHITC):He should have saved it [Steve Cook's shot], it's as simple as that.

We're doing him a favour by digging out the back four as well but he has to catch it. He's a goalkeeper I heard was very good in the German league and he could go on to be very good - almost like David De Gea did.

Is Loris Karius good enough for now? Jermaine Jenas is not so sure. https://t.co/ez4e53Nfks

But for Liverpool to win the Premier League here and now, I'm not sure he's the guy.

Defeat for the Reds means that they slip down to third in the table, whilst league leaders Chelsea now have a healthy three point cushion between themselves and second placed Arsenal.
