Black Meteors skipper, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh says there is a good atmosphere at the camp of the team.

Ghana on Sunday recorded their first win over Congo in the ongoing 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Ernest Nuamah broke the deadlock in the second half after an unimpressive first half before Emmanuel Yeboah scored a brace.

However, the Congolese scored two quick goals to end the game 3-2 win at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

“It’s a good atmosphere in our camp. On and off the pitch the morale is really high in our camp," the FC Zurich forward said.

“Everything is quite good and our objective for this competition is to qualify for the Olympic Games and also to win the trophy”.

The former Hearts of Oak striker also stated that playing in that Olympic Games was the dream of every player because most international stars have previously participated and they were determined to work to ensure they secure a spot to play in Paris next year.

“It means a lot to me to participate in the Olympic Games because it is one of the biggest competitions in the world.”

“It’s a competition that has seen a lot of stars participate in over the years”, Barnieh stated.

Ghana will take on Morocco in their second Group A game on Tuesday with kick-off scheduled at 20:00GMT.

A victory would secure the Black Meteors a spot in the semifinals of this competition.
