U23 AFCON: Black Meteors coach Ibrahim Tanko sure of Olympic Games qualification

Black Meteors coach Ibrahim Tanko has expressed optimism about his outfit qualification to the Olympic Games set for Paris in 2024.

The Ghana U23 team are currently in Morocco fighting for one of the slot for the Olympic Games next year.

The team recorded victory in their opening game against Congo after inflicting a 3-2 win on Sunday afternoon.

The Ghana U23 side will take on the host country on Tuesday night in their second Group A game of the tournament.

Ahead of the clash, Tanko has assured the team will secure qualification to the Olympic Games.

“Danlad was part of the 2019 squad in Egypt and we nearly qualified to Tokyo but we blew our last penalty out and could not qualify. I’m sure that this time, we are going to make it, Isha Allah”

Ghana are on top of Group A together with Morocco who also have three points after beating Guinea in their opening match.

The Black Meteors last competed in the Olympic Games in 2004 when it was held in Athens, Greece.
