According to the standings of the Ghana Premier League table after matchday 31, Hearts of Oak are the favourites to win the league at the end of the 2020/2021 football season.

Nicknamed the Phobians, the capital-based club had an inconsistent spell during the first round of the campaign.

After the appointment of Coach Samuel Boadu, the club in the second round of the season has managed to turn things around and now on course to ending a long Ghana Premier League title drought.

Over the weekend, Hearts of Oak narrowly defeated rivals Asante Kotoko by a lone goal at the Accra Sports Stadium.

In a matchday 31 encounter of the league played on Sunday afternoon, a strike from Daniel Afriyie Barnieh powered the Phobians to beat the Porcupine Warriors.

The league standings after that win puts Hearts of Oak three points clear at the top with an advantage over Asante Kotoko.

The team goes into the last three matches of the season with a lot of confidence and only needs to pick six points from the remaining nine to be crowned champions for this season.
