VIDEO: GFA boss Kurt Okraku reveals plans to cater for accommodation and transportation for referees

President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku has revealed plans by his outlet to cater for the transportation and accommodation of referees that will be officiating matches in the upcoming domestic league season.

According to him, they are looking to secure a sponsorship with a transportation company that will convey referees to areas where they will be assigned to in order to minimize the human connection factor, obviously with clubs that will try to offer bribe.

Speaking to journalist at the end of an Ordinary session of Congress at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence at Prampram today, Kurt Okraku said, “We are arranging a transport company and hotel to be back of the strategy to ensure we minimize the human connection factor in their attempt to deliver good service to us”.

He further shared that the GFA is looking to improve on the incentives given to the referees as part of efforts to insist on the referees to delivery quality.

“We started the process by engaging the Referee’s Association of Ghana. We continue with appointment of sub-committees for referees. Beyond which we organized an integrity seminar for the referees.

“Referee list is been scrutinized and downsized. We are improving on financial incentives giving to referees”, he said.
