VIDEO: Riyad Mahrez Trolls Spurs With Choice of Funniest Moment of Last Season

Published on: 29 November 2016

Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez has trolled last season's Premier League title rivals Tottenham by suggesting that the moment they threw away a two-goal lead to mathematically hand the Foxes the trophy was the funniest moment of the campaign.

Spurs needed to win the game against Chelsea to keep their own title hopes alive, and it looked like Mahrez, Jamie Vardy and co. would have to wait to begin the celebrations when Harry Kane and Son Heung-min scored both before half-time.

The whole Leicester squad had gathered at Vardy's house for a title party. But, just when Mahrez thought gathering together was all for nothing, Chelsea came storming back and Eden Hazard scored a late equaliser that immediately sealed Leicester's place in history.

"The funniest moment, I think it was when Tottenham was 2-0 ahead against Chelsea at half-time," the PFA Player of the Year told FourFourtTwo.

"All the team was at Vardy's house and thought were are probably not going to be champions tonight. I was like, what's the point of coming today? And then they drew 2-2. It was funny."

Leicester had drawn with Manchester United at Old Trafford a day earlier which ultimately proved to be enough, and proceeded to close out the season with a win against Everton when the Premier League trophy was presented, followed by their own draw with Chelsea on the final day.
