WAFU Zone B U17 Championship: Ghana’s Black Starlets thrash Togo 3-0 to progress to semis

Ghana’s Black Starlets put up a spirited second-half performance on Friday afternoon to hammer their counterpart from Togo 3-0.

This is the second match of the Starlets played in the ongoing 2022 WAFU Zone B U17 Championship being hosted in Ghana.

In the first match of the Black Starlets, the team struggled to compete and as a result, suffered a 4-2 defeat at the end of the 90 minutes.

Needing a win to progress to the group stage today, Ghana’s U17 team showed up and has gotten the result.

On the matchday, the first half ended goalless with the hosts struggling to break down the defense of Togo.

After recess, a change in personnel and formation paid off for the Black Starlets with Pious Adua, Abdul Razak Salifu, and Collins Agyemang scoring to propel Ghana to a needed 3-0 win against Togo.

The victory today means that the Black Starlets are through to the semi-finals of the WAFU Zone B U17 Championship.
