Ghana’s Under-20 male football team, the Black Satellites were beaten 3-1 by their Senegalese counterparts in the first leg of the 2017 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations final qualifying stage game on Saturday.

The match played at the Demba Diop Stadium in Dakar saw the hosts take the lead in the 11th minute with a stunning free kick from Ibrahima Niane.

Tema Youth attacker Jonah Osabuteh leveled score for Ghana in the 22nd minute but Niane got his team back into the lead three minutes later.

Idrissa Ndiaye further added to Ghana’s woes with the third goal in the 58th minute. With the score ending at 3-1, the Black Satellites will need to secure at least a 2-0 win in the return encounter on July 22 in order to proceed to the U-20 Afcon scheduled for Zambia next year.
