We all have to come together as a nation and support Black Stars - Ex-Fulham midfielder Derek Boateng

Published on: 10 November 2022

Former Fulham midfielder Derek Boateng makes a passionate appeal to Ghanaians to continuously throw their support behind the Black Stars ahead of the World Cup.

Black Stars make a return to the tournament after missing out on the 2018 edition in Russia and have been drawn in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.

Ghana will take on Portugal in their first game on November 24 before playing South Korea and Uruguay on November 28 and December 2 respectively.

"It’s a young team so we have to keep supporting them, let them grow. Sometimes things get worse before they get better. We have to have patience for the team," Boateng told Citi Sports.

"It’s a young team, we all know we have a young, new coach. We have to have patience with them…it’s not going to be easy, we all know that it’s tough. It’s a World Cup so we all have to come together as a nation and support them."

Coach Otto Addo is expected to named his final squad on Friday, November, 12, 2022.

Black Stars will play Switzerland in an International friendly on November 17, before travelling to Qatar for the World Cup.
