Ghana full-back, Gideon Mensah has expressed confidence in the chances of the Black Stars beating the Super Eagles in Nigeria to secure qualification to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The youngster lasted 90 minutes last Friday when Ghana was held to a goalless draw by Nigeria in the first leg of the playoff tie of the African qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday evening, Gideon Mensah indicated that the Black Stars are ready to fight to achieve the goal of qualification.

“We had a fighting spirit in the first leg in Kumasi and the game ended goalless so obviously we have won nothing. We are here to push more and give more fighting spirit so you should expect something more than we did in Kumasi.

“We are not thinking about Ghana not qualifying, we are qualifying obviously,” Gideon Mensah said.

The crucial encounter between Nigeria and Ghana will kick off today at the Moshood Abiola National Sports Stadium.

Kick off is at 17:00GMT.
