Head coach for Kumasi Asante Kotoko Maxwell Konadu has opined that his team will be gunning for a win when they face Hearts of Oak on Sunday even though they are not in the best shape.

The gaffer recently joined the Porcupine Warriors and will be in the dugout for the first time for the side when they host their bitterest rivals tomorrow in the replay of the 2019 President Cup.

In a preview to the big game, coach Maxwell Konadu has noted that they have been training for the Phobians in the past week. According to him, his lads will go in for the win on the matchday.

“It's going on well. So far so good. We have Hearts in mind for now but at the same time preparing ourselves for the league. So basically that’s what we have been doing”, the coach said in a video posted on Kotoko’s YouTube channel.

He continued, “So far it's not bad. It's not the best but it's not bad. We can be competitive on Sunday. We will do our best to win but like I said we are not in the best of shapes but we will be fine. Asante Kotoko will be fine for the match”.

The replay of the president cup will be played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium at 15:00GMT.
