Björn Wesström, the football director of Danish Superliga club Odense Boldklub, has expressed his excitement and high expectations for the team's newest signing, Leeroy Owusu.

The Dutch-born Ghanaian defender recently inked a three-year contract with the club, bringing his talents to Denmark.

In a statement released by the club on Saturday, June 17, Wesström lauded Owusu's abilities and highlighted his versatility as a valuable asset for the team.

"With Leeroy, we get a full-back who can play on both sides. He is an experienced player and at an age where the expectation is that he will play his best football from day one," Wesström stated confidently.

Leeroy Owusu, at 26 years old, arrives at Odense Boldklub as a free agent following the conclusion of his three-year tenure with Dutch second-tier club Willem II Tilburg.

Owusu's football journey began in the Netherlands, where he joined the esteemed AFC Ajax academy at the tender age of seven.

Under their guidance, he developed his skills until reaching the U21 level. He subsequently went on to represent several Dutch clubs, including De Graafschap, Excelsior, and Willem II.

The talented defender has accumulated over 300 appearances in the top Dutch leagues, with nearly 100 matches in the Eredivisie.
