We had nothing to do with floodlight situation - Accra Great Olympics spokesman Saint Osei

In a swift rebuttal to Nsoatreman General Manager Eric Alagidede's allegations, spokesman for Accra Great Olympics, Saint Osei, firmly asserted that the club bore no responsibility for the floodlight debacle that marred yesterday's week nine game at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The match was temporarily halted due to poor visibility caused by nonfunctioning floodlights, causing a stir among fans and players alike.

Eventually, after a delay, the lights were restored, and the game concluded with a 2-1 victory for the host team, Accra Great Olympics.

Nsoatreman scored in the 15th minute through Mohammed Rahaman. Emmanuel Antwi netted twice in the 56th and 77th minute to give the home side the victory.

"Great Olympics is not in charge of scheduling games whether it will be played at 3 or 4 those that do that is StarTimes so it is not the responsibility of Great Olympics to go and buy diesel or petrol it is not our responsibility," Osei told Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com

"Yesterday the talk in town was Great Olympics has intentionally made the floodlights to go off because we want to do somethings I don't really know what they want to tell us," he added.
