We have strengthen our squad to meet our target in the second round - David Obeng Kotoko Communiations Officer

Asante Kotoko Communications Officer David Obeng has stated the Porcupine Warriors are ready to meet their target in the second round after making some key signings in the transfer window.

Asante Kotoko was beaten 2-0 by Dreams FC at the Dawu Sports Stadium on 12th February in their match week 17 game. The Kumasi-based club secured experienced defender Mohammed Alhassan on a free transfer. Alhassan has started training with his new club and is expected to play a key role for Kotoko in the second round.

“Obviously the target we have given ourselves is after the second round we should be first on the league log of the Ghana Premier League. We have strength three department of our team we have strengthen defense with Mohammed Alhassan, midfield with Rashid Nortey and the attack with de Souza," David Obeng said on Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com

"We believe these players will help so fix some of the mistakes that happened in the first round. Also most of our players that got injured is now encouraging Isaac Oppong is near recovery, Afoakwa is also near recovery, Mubarak we will have to look after him for a month. Most of the players we lost them to injuries at the start of the season their recovery is going well,"

"We are hoping to get the better squad much improved and much healthy squad for the second round. When it happens like this the matches that we lost or played draw we will play them with a lot of energy to score enough goals and concede less. Football too you know that when you score more and don’t concede a lot obviously you become the winner,”

The Kumasi-based club is fourth on the Ghana Premier League table with 27 points after 17 games.
