We need to keep pushing – Hudson-Odoi rallies Bayer Leverkusen teammates

England-forward of Ghanaian descent, Callum Hudson-Odoi has urged his teammates at Bayer Leverkusen to keep working hard after the elimination from the Uefa Champions League.

In mid-week, the German Bundesliga club was eliminated from the elite European inter-club competition after drawing 2-2 against Atletico Madrid.

Speaking in a post-match interview, youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi said the game was tough.

While lamenting what has been an unimpressive display in the Uefa Champions League, the on-loan Chelsea forward says it is important his teammates continue fighting.

“It was a tough match but I felt we did really well, we worked hard off the ball and took the chances when they came.

“It's one of those [Champions League] campaigns when you look at it you think to yourself that you could have maybe conceded less goals, scored more goals, and obviously won more games.

"But we just need to keep pushing forward and I think that's what we've done,” Callum Hudson-Odoi shared.

Bayer Leverkusen must now win the final group game of the Champions League and hope that Atletico Madrid loses their game to secure a place in the Europa League knockout stage.
