Accra Lions staged an incredible comeback against Nsoatreman in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League match on Monday at the WAFA Park in Sogakope.

The Lions' head coach, Ibrahim Tanko, candidly remarked on the rollercoaster of emotions that defined their performance: "We slept in the first half and woke up in the second half against Nsoatreman."

The encounter unfolded with an early strike from Nsoatreman's Kwabena Adu Meider, who found the back of the net in the 1st minute, setting the tone for what promised to be a challenging battle for the Lions. However, Accra Lions, seemingly stirred from their slumber, staged a dramatic turnaround, epitomized by the impactful contributions of substitute Mohammed Yahaya.

Yahaya, entering the game with a strategic substitution, proved to be the catalyst for Accra Lions' resurgence. The decisive moments came in the 74th and 81st minutes, as he first equalized for the Lions and then secured the winning goal, propelling his team to a 2-1 victory over Nsoatreman.

"It was a game of two halves we slept in the first half and woke up in the second half definitely we spoke to the in the second half because you cannot play at home and then after 30 seconds you are chasing 1-0 that will make it very difficult for you," he said after the game.

"The second half we deserve to win we have to score more goals we have chances but I think at the end three points is good for us," he added.
