The director of Real Tamale United (RTU), Mohammed Barko Alhassan says they will want to use their opening game against Hearts of Oak to raise a good amount of money to support the club.

The Northern region-based club will host the Phobian in their opener of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.

“We are looking to see if Hearts of Oak coming down, we can use it to generate some money to support the club going into the rest of the season," he told Accra-based Radio Gold.

“We will use the media around us, both the traditional media and our social media just to hype and promote the Hearts of Oak match.

“We are going to explore avenues to promote the match so that we can generate some money.

“Because as for Hearts of Oak whether you like it or not they are crowd pullers. That one from generation since 1974.

“There have never been any that Hearts of Oak comes to Tamale and attendance is poor.

“Hearts of Oak have always dominated in terms of pulling support and we are going to take advantage of that," he added.

RTU last season finished 11th on the league table with 46 points after 34 games.
