We were lucky to get a point from Karela Utd game; Coach Ogum must be careful – Chairman K5 warns Kotoko coach

Former Asante Kotoko National Circles Council Chairman, Kwaku Amponsah says he is unhappy with the start of the team in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.

In an interview, the staunch supporter of the Porcupine Warriors raised an issue with the player selection of head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.

According to him, Asante Kotoko fortunately ran away with a point from the game against Karela United on Sunday.

“In team building, you don't bench a Premier League player and start inexperienced players from the lower division, this is not helping Kotoko,” Chairman K5 told Akoma FM in an interview.

He continued, “We were lucky to pick a point against Karela but our Coach, Prosper Ogum should be careful and improve his performance, our position on the league log is not quite encouraging. Even though Otumfuo wants us to rebuild but that does not mean we shouldn't win a trophy.”

Since the start of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, Asante Kotoko have not won a game after three games.

The Porcupine Warriors have lost one and drawn the other two games.
