Children of Christian Atsu Joshua Christian, Godwin, and Abigail said their final goodbye to their father in a touching tribute.

The final funeral rites of late Black Stars winger Christian Atsu were held at the forecourt of the State House in Accra yesterday. His one week observation was held on March 4th at the Adjiringanor Astro Turf.

The remains of Christian Atsu arrived in Accra on Sunday night 7:40 p.m. 19 February 2023. The remains were received at the Kotoka International Airport by the family, the Ghana Football Association (GFA), and the Government.

The tribute was read out by a member of Atsu's family on behalf of the kids.

“We missed you, dad.

“You loved us for who we were and accepted us for who we were striving to become. You always made us smile and filled us with strength.

“Your strength gave us a sense of protection and love. Now that you are in heaven, we know that you will continue to protect us.

“Thanks for being our dad. We will always love and miss you. Rest well, dad.”

Atsu played 65 times for Ghana and helped the Black Stars reach the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations final in Equatorial Guinea.

The 31-year-old also played for Premier League sides Everton FC, AFC Bournemouth, and Newcastle United.
