We will end Hearts Of Oak’s dominance at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday – Amos Frimpong

Captain for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Amos Frimpong has stressed that they are going to end the home dominance of Accra Hearts of Oak when they play them in the semi-final of the tier 1 of the Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition this weekend.

The two most successful clubs in the country will renew their rivalry for the first time in 2019 when they take to the field in a crunch Super Sunday Clash. The match promises to be an exciting encounter especially when both sides want to advance to the grand finale of the competition.

Speaking to Graphic Sports ahead of the tie, Captain Amos Frimpong shared that they will be the team to down the Phobians who he admits has been playing some good football in the division since the start of the competition.

“Hearts have been playing good football at home in the competition but we are determined to stop their unbeaten run”.

“We are coming in strongly to win against Hearts and build upon our hopes of making it to next season’s CAF Champions League”, the experienced Kotoko defender said.

Following Felix Annan’s inclusion in the final 23-man squad of the Black Stars, he is expected to be replaced by young goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim. Nonetheless, they will also be boosted by the return of Abdul Safiu who has been exceptional for them throughout this campaign.

For Hearts of Oak, their top defender Mohammed Alhassan will be available to command the backline following his axing from the AFCON squad.

The match will be played on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at 15:00GMT.
