FC Samartex 1996 head coach, Nurudeen Amadu has confirmed they will strengthen their squad in the second round of the ongoing 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.

Samartex currently occupy the top spot of the Premier League log with 26 points.

With the second transfer window set to be opened on December 18 as announced by the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Adamu has hinted they will strengthen the squad as they hope to annex the Premier League title.

“What we intend to do after the first round is to sit down and analyse our team and see our strengths and weaknesses and see if we can beef up the team in certain positions," he told Graphic Sports.

He also expressed the belief that recruiting quality players was essential for staying competitive in the upcoming matches, as other teams would be closely watching us and every match would be like a final.

“The second round is going to be tougher than we think, and as it is now, everybody is going to be looking at us. If we play any match, it’s going to be like the grand finale, so it is not something we need to sleep over,” he said.

FC Samartex 1996 will be hosted by Bibiani Gold Stars in the matchday 15 games at DUN's Park on Sunday.
