West Brom Assistant Says Team 'Would Need to Wear Mini-Skirts' to Be Considered Sexy

Published on: 08 February 2017

West Brom Assistant manager Dave Kemp has claimed that the team would need to wear mini-skirts in order to be considered sexy due to Tony Pulis' reputation of favouring a long-ball tactical approach, derived from his time at Stoke City.

The Albion are currently eighth in the Premier League and are chasing a Europa League position.

Kemp, who has worked with Pulis at Crystal Palace, Stoke, Plymouth and Portsmouth has said the following: ''In recent games we've been scoring three goals here, there's every chance of seeing goals if you come to West Bromwich Albion.

We're very happy with a 1-0 win, but I don't think you can cite any lack of entertainment, that's for sure.

"Our players put a shift in every week and that's what we like, quite frankly. But we've got Chadli, Morrison, Phillips. I don't know how sexy you want them to be? Wearing mini-skirts?

When asked if Pulis could changehisreputation, Kemp argued I don't think so. You get pigeonholed.

Someone comes in and he's very sexy because he waves his arms about and jumps up and down a lot, which people like, they get drawn in that that's all fantastic.

It's preconceived ideas, someone comes to a game and gets told this is happening and that is happening.I can remember when we were at Stoke, people would come and say 'what a great game it was, how entertaining' and all the rest of it.By the time the next game came around it was dull old Stoke who are going to kick it long and dirty old team and all that business.

You think hang on, you just watched the game last week and told me how exciting and entertaining it was. You get stereotyped and I think Tone's got that unfortunately.
