Renowned sports broadcaster and Chairman of the Shama District Football Association, Kuntu Blankson, has unveiled plans to pay tribute to former Young African forward, Bernard Morrison, as the Western Region's Continental Player of the Year.

The distinguished ceremony is scheduled to take place on Sunday at the Effiakuma Police Park.

Morrison, who made a name for himself playing for Young African in Tanzania, played a pivotal role in the team's triumphant campaign during the 2022/23 season.

The Ghanaian attacker made over 20 appearances across various competitions after joining from Simba SC.

His performances contributed to Yanga's capture of three domestic trophies, and he was instrumental in their commendable second-place finish in the highly competitive CAF Confederation Cup.

Beyond his accomplishments on the football field, Morrison has been actively engaged in philanthropic endeavors through his foundation, the BM3 Foundation.

Morrison will organize an inspiring charity game over the weekend.

The charity match will be between Bernard Morrison XI, a team captained by the Ghanaian forward himself, as they go head-to-head with Medeama Sporting Club.

The event not only aims to laud the remarkable achievements of the recently crowned Ghana League champions but also seeks to shed light on Morrison's foundation and its noble charitable initiatives.
