Highly-rated African tactician, Pitso Mosimane is surprise Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko are no longer dominant on the  African continent.

Speaking to Joy Sports in an interview, the Al Ahly coach expressed shock to how the two giants clubs from Ghana are no longer regulars in the CAF Champions League.

“Where are the Porcupine Warriors? They used to terrorize everybody. Where is Phobia? Where are those teams? When these two teams play in Ghana, the streets are closed. Where are those teams in the Champions League? Where are the top talents”? the coach asked.

He continued, “You need to have an organised league, TV on the league, improve the stadia. It’s not easy because of the economy but proper, smaller but decent stadia can help. Also, paying the players well and ensuring the players are willing to play. Create the vibe among fans and Ghanaian teams will come back to the Champions League. The private sector will also have to invest so you can develop your own players and bring in good players from other countries.”

Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko despite remaining as the two most glamourous clubs in Ghana have been unable to compete on the continent.
