Will the entire Kotoko management be dissolved?

Following the inauguration of Asante Kotoko’s new board of directors today, growing speculation is hinting at the possible dissolving of the management team of the club.

In August 2015, Executive Chairman of the club, Dr. Kwame Kyei formed a new management team 24 hours after dissolving the previous management team.

George Amoako was named as the Chief Executive Officer of the new team with Lawyer Samuel Sarfo Duku, as the new Director of Communications Director, Mr. Yaw Amo Sarpong as the Policy Analyst, Mr. Isaac Donkor as Director of Operations and Dr. Jerry Pratt Newton, as the club’s medical officer.

Other members included Nana Kwame Dankwah, Deputy Greater Accra representative; Mr. Caleb Adams, Psychologist; Miss Rose Padmore Yeboah, Administrative Manager; Miss Lucy Josephine Andoh, Deputy Administrative Manager and Nana Akwasi Gyambibi, Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman.

In the past year, the likes of Layer Sarfo Duku, Dr. Amo Sarpong, and a few others have parted ways with the club leaving just a handful.

In the midst of the storm blowing at the club with His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II forming a new board of the directors for the club, checks have revealed that there could be additional changes which could see the management team being dissolve.

First, though, their inputs at the club will be assessed by the 9-member board led by Dr. Kwame Kyei as its chairman before any decision is taken.

As things stand now, nothing is clear, it is likely all management members will keep their jobs, they could all be relieved of their post, or just a few will be asked to step aside.

It is up to the new board to assess the performance of all management team members then decided on the next line of action.
