Bibiani Goldstars coach Frimpong Manso has emphasized the importance of their narrow win over Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League.
The Miners prevailed with a 1-0 win at the Accra Sports Stadium in matchday 24 of the doesmtic top-flight on Sunday.
Mawuli Wayo capitalized on a goalkeeper error in the 79th minute when Sharif Shuaib's clearance rebounded off an opponent, allowing Wayo to seize the opportunity and slot the ball into an empty net.
Speaking after game, Manso asserted his side triumph over the Phobians gives them confidence for subsequent Ghana Premier League games.
“The team is improving. In the past seven games, we’ve won four, drawn two and lost one. Picking our first our win against no other team like Hearts of Oak means a lot for us”
“Since I took over, we’ve never drawn a game at home, we’ve been winning all games on home turf but what was left was the away win and it has finally happened. This will give us a huge confidence in subsequent games” he said.
Bibiani Goldstars are eleventh on the Ghana Premier League standings after 24 matches into the campaign, accumulating 32 points.
