Winger Nana Ampomah booming with confident ahead of Royal Antwerp’s clash with Charleroi

Having finally opened his goal-scoring account at Royal Antwerp, Nana Opoku Ampomah is booming with confidence ahead of the game against Charleroi next weekend.

After a slow start to life in Antwerp as a result of late arrival to the team in the summer, the Ghanaian winger is finally picking up form and displayed glimpses of his quality on Sunday during the game against Waasland-Beveren.

In what was a clash against his former club, Nana Opoku Ampomah dazzled and scored to help Royal Antwerp cruise to a 3-0 win.

Now feeling good, the forward is hoping to keep going and is eyeing having the chance to excel when his team takes on Charleroi on Sunday, December 27.

“Yes, it took some time before I could become the Ampomah of my best period in Beveren again. I had to make up for a considerable training delay, and that was only possible by working hard. And then by waiting patiently for an opportunity. Due to the busy match schedule, the coach needs everyone and so he ended up with me.

“Playing the Freethiel again was certainly special. In the end I owe a lot to that club, but I am now a football player from Antwerp and so I want Antwerp to win,” Ampomah said after yesterday’s win.
