According to him, claims that his team gave too much respect for the Portuguese national team are false.

In his view, the Black Stars did very well by matching the matchday opponent.

“I don’t think it’s true. Our players did so well. I don’t think we over-respected them.

“For me, we showed that we could compete with them, even though we had a lot of inexperienced players,” coach Otto Addo said in a pre-match interview to the game against South Korea.

Last Thursday, Otto Addo was in the dugout when Ghana locked horns with Portugal.

Unfortunately, the efforts of the Black Stars were not enough as the national team lost 3-2 to the opponent.

Ghana later today takes on South Korea in a second Group H match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
