Ghana captain, Andre Ayew has reacted to his penalty miss in the game against Uruguay in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The experienced forward was in action for the Black Stars on Friday afternoon in the final Group H match against the Uruguayans.

In the 17th minute, Ghana was awarded a penalty kick after poster boy Mohammed Kudus was fouled in the opponent’s box by the goalkeeper.

Unfortunately, the pressure got to Andre Ayew when he stepped up to take the spot kick as he failed to convert.

Speaking to 3Sports after the game, the former Swansea City man said he is very disappointed about the result.

According to him, missing the penalty was very difficult to take in a game that could have sent Ghana to the Round 16 stage of the world cup.

“I’m very disappointed with the result. We had the opportunity to get to the next stage. The penalty I missed is difficult to take. I did not get it right on the penalty but I’m very optimistic for the future,” Andre Ayew said.
