World Cup 2022: Morocco forward Youssef En-Nesyri to break 16-year record at mundial

Morocco forward Youssef En-Nesyri will become the highest Arab scorer at the World Cup if he scores against France in the Semi-finals.

The Sevilla star has three goals at the biggest soccer mundial, scoring two in the ongoing tournament in Qatar.

He scored against Canada and Portugal as Morocco sneak through to the semi-finals of the tournament in the Asian country.

The forward had a goal during the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where France emerged as winners.

The 25-year-old will be looking forward to being alone with an Arab record at the mundial when the Atlas Lions face France on Wednesday.

With this outcome, Youssef En-Nesyri has equalled Saudi Arabia duo, Sami Al-Jaber and Salem Al-Dosari, and the Tunisian Wahbi Khazri, at the top of the list of Arab scorers throughout the World Cup tournaments, as the latter two succeeded in equalizing Al-Jaber's number during the current tournament.

The Moroccan striker aims to break Al-Jaber's record, which he achieved 16 years ago in the 2006 World Cup, and no Arab player has failed to surpass it since then.
