Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani says he and his teammates will correct their errors ahead of their final group game against Ghana at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Uruguay must now beat Ghana in their final Group H game to have a chance of qualifying to the round of 16 stage.

Ghana and Uruguay face off at the Al Janoub Stadium on Friday.

"Now we recover and prepare ahead of the game on Friday," Cavani said.

"We will correct our mistakes and go in for the win."

The game will be a repeat of the 2010 World Cup quarter-final incident which saw Luis Suarez save his side with the handball incident as Ghana eventually bowed out of the tournament on penalty shootouts.

Black Stars are currently second in Group H with three points while Uruguay have just one point after drawing goalless with South Korea and losing to Portugal in their second group game on Monday.
