Former Golden Eaglets Coach Manu Garba is optimistic that the team will excel at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup, which kicks off today in Chile.

Manu who led the Golden Eaglets to win the title at UAE 2013 told The Guardian yesterday that the Coach Emmanuel Amuneke tutored team must be mentally focused to win their group matches.

He urged coach Amuneke to ensure he picks the best players, especially for today's opening Group A fixture against USA.

According to him, the Eaglets failed to shine at the African U-17 championship in Niger Republic earlier this year due to poor individual performance of some players.

The ex-Flying Eagles manager, however, charged the Golden Eaglets to approach all their marches with resilience, nothing that all the teams in the World Cup would be fighting hard to beat Nigeria.

The Eaglets have what it takes to win the World Cup for the Fifth time if they can win all their group matches. Amuneke must have corrected the mistakes in the team after their poor performance in Niger Republic.

With the result in their friendly matches in Argentina, I believe the boys will fly higher in Chile. Amuneke should always select players who are fit and committed to prosecute every game. This was the secrets of our success at the last edition in UAE," Manu said.
