Captain for Aduana Stars, Yahaya Mohammed has cautioned Kumasi Asante Kotoko to be wary of the threat of FC San Pedro as they prepare to host the Ivorian side at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium this weekend.

The Porcupine Warriors are determined to progress into the group phase of the CAF Confederations Cup after they were knocked out by Tunisia club Etoile Sportive du Sahel in the Champions League.

Fortunately for them, they have dropped into the second tier inter-club competition and with a good chance to continue their quest for continental glory.

First, though, they need to beat FC San Pedro over the course of two legs to ensure they secure a place in the group stage of the competition.

Speaking in an interview with Kessben FM, former Kotoko striker Yahaya Mohammed has urged the Ghanaian giants to take the match seriously and beat the Ivorian side by a huge goal margin in the first leg.

“They [FC San Pedro] take every match as a final match including friendly matches.”

“Kotoko must beat San Pedro by more than two goals if they want to progress to the next stage of the competition.”

“They know how to play away matches so Kotoko should not underestimate them”.

The crucial first leg tie of the final round to the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup will be played on Sunday, October 27, 2019.
