Accra Lions prevailed in the highly competitive game after narrowly overcoming Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park.

The first half of the game ended in a pulsating goalless draw, as both teams were unable to find the back of the net.

Shakun Abubakari fired the winner in the 90th minute mark after connecting from Abass Samari Salifu’s beautiful pass in the much-anticipated encounter.

“Like I said, football anything can happen. If you don’t take your chances, it can punish you. So, that is what happened today because if we had scored all the chances that we had, I don’t think the results will be negative like that.”

Aduana Stars remain on top of the league standings, level on points with Nsoatreman. Their next game is at home to Hearts of Oak.
