Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Tyrone Mings Charged With Violent Conduct by FA Following Saturday Clashes

Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings have each been charged with violent conduct by the English FA after a series of incidents during the 1-1 draw between the teams on Saturday.

Both players were lucky not to be sent off in the game, as both clashed a number of times in the first half.

Mings appeared to stamp on the head of the Swede as he lay on the ground during a United attack, and Ibrahimovic responded with an elbow to the head of his opponent shortly after.

Both players have until6pm on Tuesday 7 March 2017 to reply to their charge, though the FA have indicated that Mings could be handed a harsher punishment for his part.

They wrote in a statement:"The FA has submitted a claim that the standard punishment that would otherwise apply for the misconduct committed by the Bournemouth defender is ˜clearly insufficient'."

It's expected that Ibrahimovic will be handed a three-match ban for his actions, putting him out of upcoming games with Chelsea in the FA Cup, as well as league clashes with Middlesbrough and West Bromwich Albion. Mings, however, could be set for a longer spell on the sidelines.
