GPL: Elmina Sharks to halt Aduana Stars in title quest

Ghana Premier giants Aduana Stars will have to wait till the final day to determine if they are to win the league, according to the Elmina Shark's general manager.

The former Champions will engage debutantes Elmina Sharks on Sunday, in a crucial game that could decide the winner of the Ghana Premier League.

However, Sharks who look to have confirmed their place in the GPL after a run of fine form that saw them beat the Tema Youth in Greater Accra want to prolong Aduana’s wait for a second title.

According to the club’s general manager who was speaking to Sunyani based radio station, his side look set to stall Aduana’s party.

“Elmina Sharks will have no mercy for Aduana Stars on Sunday despite playing away’’.

“We are going to Dormaa with all our weapons to beat Aduana so if they have any idea of using Elmina Sharks as a springboard to declare themselves as an advanced champions of the league,  then they must prepare for mass mourning on Sunday’’. He exclusively told ATL FM.

The 2010 champions sit at the summit of the table with 51 points, four points adrift of second place WAFA.

A win on Sunday for Aduana will see the Dormaa based club crowned champions of the 2016/17 premier league.
