20/21 Ghana Premier League matchday nine: WAFA v Asante Kotoko preview

Published on: 16 January 2021

Asante Kotoko will face a tough test on Sunday, January 17, 2021, when the team faces off with WAFA SC at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope.

The two clubs are scheduled to lock horns tomorrow afternoon in what will be a matchday nine encounter in the ongoing 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.

With both teams having enjoyed a decent form in their last five matches, they are all booming with confidence to bag all three points at the end of the 90 minutes.

Due to the home strength of WAFA SC, however, they stand strong as the favourites for the match.

The team in past years has managed to overpower most of the tough encounters they have faced on their smooth turf in Sogakope.

Tomorrow, pundits say it will be no different as they continue to rule out a win for Asante Kotoko.

Meanwhile, with the Porcupine Warriors unbeaten in their last five matches, interim boss Johnson Smith is optimistic of getting one over his opposite number.

Player to watch:

Kwame Poku – The Asante Kotoko striker netted a brace for his team in the last match against Liberty Professionals at the Accra Sports Stadium.

With his lethal form in-front of goal, he could well decide the fixture for the Reds tomorrow.

Predicted scoreline:

WAFA 3-2 Asante Kotoko.
