2019 President Cup recorded poor attendance as Kotoko beat Hearts

The 2019 President Cup between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Stadium recorded low attendance as the former defeated the latter to seal their sixth title  on Sunday.

The two most successful clubs in Ghana failed to fill to the stadium which has a 40,000 seater capacity stadium.

According to reports, about 5000 fans made it to the stadium to watch the teams in action, however, the organisers GHALCA have been blamed for a poor publicity ahead of the game.

It could be recalled that the first clash was cancelled due to heavy down pour at the same venue in September and was well attended by fans from both sides..

Kofi Kordzi gave Hearts the lead in the 36th minute from the spot penalty after Ampem Dacosta was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box.

Kotoko levelled some few minutes later through an own goal by Hearts defender Mohammed Alhassan before Naby Keita  bagged the winner in the 64th minute to hand the Porcupine Warriors a slim win.

This is the second successive time Kotoko have beaten Hearts in the President Cup.
