2021/22 Ghana Premier League matchday 31: Accra Lions fight to hold Ashgold to a 2-2 draw in Obuasi

Accra Lions on Sunday afternoon put up a spirited performance to hold Ashanti Gold SC to a 2-2 draw in the Ghana Premier League.

The capital-based club today visited the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium to honour a date on matchday 31 of the ongoing 2021/22 Ghanaian top-flight league season.

Overwhelmed by the attacking prowess of the home team, the visitors trailed in the 23rd minute courtesy of a strike from Yaw Annor.

Staying focused and defending very well, Accra Lions came into the game in the second half and equalised through Eric Okyere in the 64th minute to draw level.

Although Yaw Annor would score again in the 89th minute to restore the lead for Ashanti Gold SC, Accra Lions would not give up.

The team scored in added time through Shawkan Hunalf Mohammed to force the match to end in a 2-2 draw.

Courtesy of the result, both teams have settled for a point apiece.
