Daniel Heber scored a consolation goal for FC Magdeburg in their 4-1 defeat to FC Kaiserslautern in the Bundesliga 2 on Saturday afternoon.

The German-born Ghanaian defender started the game at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion and lasted the full game, but his goal in the 79th minute was not enough to prevent his team from suffering a heavy defeat.

FC Kaiserslautern took the lead in the 15th minute through Daniel Hanslik, who scored with a left-footed shot from the center of the box. Hanslik doubled the lead five minutes later with a right-footed shot from very close range, assisted by Tymoteusz Puchacz following a fast break. Kenny Redondo added a third goal for FC Kaiserslautern in the 57th minute with a left-footed shot from outside the box, assisted by Ben Zolinski following another fast break.

Heber scored FC Magdeburg's only goal of the game in the 79th minute with a header from the center of the box, assisted by Alexander Nollenberger with a cross following a corner. However, Jan Elvedi scored a fourth goal for FC Kaiserslautern in the 83rd minute with a right-footed shot from very close range, assisted by Almamy Touré with a cross following a set piece situation.

Despite having more possession, FC Magdeburg were unable to convert their chances into goals, while FC Kaiserslautern were more clinical in front of goal.

Heber has played 31 games and scored twice in the Bundesliga 2 this season.
