2021 AFCON: Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will play against Ghana - Anicet Yala

Gabon assistant coach Anicet Yala has confirmed that Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will feature against Ghana in their second Group C game at the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Aubameyang missed the Panthers' opening game win over Comoros after testing positive for Covid-19. However, he resumed training on Wednesday with his teammates.

Gabon are joint-top of Group C with Morocco and a win for them against the Black Stars who lost their opening game will see them progress to the round of 16 stage.

"It is clear and once we have Aubameyang we will play him in the game. It is a big boost for us and we are happy,” Yala told reporters.

"We have 28 players at our disposal, and we will seek for solutions among the group."

He added, "It's always good to count on players like Aubameyang. The group will be stronger. We will go into this game with the same determination as always.

"We know it won't be an easy game, but I believe in the quality of my players and their talent."

Yala will be in the dugout because head coach Patrice Neveu is isolating after himself testing positive for the virus.
