Berekum Chelsea secured a crucial 1-0 win over Legon Cities in match week 21 of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League at Golden City Park on Sunday afternoon.
The home team bounced back from their 1-0 defeat to Medeama SC in the previous league game, thanks to Fravien Kwasi Kongoza's first goal of the season.
The victory saw Berekum Chelsea climb to the 8th spot on the league log with 31 points, up from 9th with 28 points before the game. Meanwhile, Legon Cities dropped a place to the relegation zone with 23 points, after failing to secure a win in their last five league games.
The Royals have suffered defeats to Samartex and Medeama, and played conservative draws against Tamale City and Real Tamale United, before succumbing to Berekum Chelsea in the match.
Berekum Chelsea took the lead through Fravien Kwasi Kongoza's goal in the 32nd minute of the game, and the hosts held on to secure all three points.
Berekum Chelsea will play Tamale City in their week 22 encounter on Friday, while Legon Cities will be guests to Great Olympics on the same day.
